This private residence is set into an existing, mature urban
garden setting on a large piece of land facing due south.
With an ideal orientation and near perfect level site we were
able to create a large property for entertaining and private
living. We have taken the existing property with its external
organic; free form and completely rebuilt the interior to
a more rigid linear geometry. This has made the property both
more practical and livable allowing for a greater utilization
of space. The additions of the kitchen, is made to look like
and addition whilst still fitting into the overall context.
The use of materials and finishes enhances the form by bringing
the large space down to a more personal intimate level. The
property continually interacts with the natural setting and
there is a seamless boundary between the interior and exterior.
